Practical Learning and Development for Managers

This 5-day course is designed to help managers become champions of learning and development (L&D) within their teams and organisations.   • Conducting Training Needs Analysis (TNA)
  • Using performance reviews and feedback
  • Recognising individual vs. team development gaps
  • Aligning development needs with strategic goals
  • Prioritising learning opportunities effectively


Day 3: Designing Effective Learning Experiences

  • Setting clear learning objectives and outcomes
  • Choosing the right learning methods (workshops, coaching, e-learning)
  • Blended learning approaches
  • Creating learning plans and development roadmaps
  • Supporting learning with tools, time, and resources


Day 4: Delivering and Supporting Development

  • The role of managers as coaches and mentors
  • Facilitating on-the-job learning and peer knowledge sharing
  • Giving feedback to support growth
  • Motivating learners and overcoming resistance
  • Embedding learning into everyday work


Day 5: Evaluating and Sustaining Learning

  • Measuring learning outcomes and impact (Kirkpatrick Model basics)

  • Recognising and rewarding development progress
  • Building your L&D strategy and action plan
